Itinerary: Jeep Tour Cuc Phuong National Park – Ho Chi Minh Trail – DMZ – Hue – Hoi An in 7Days
There is the option of riding a motorbike or a mountain bike to the park centre where we will stay for the night. For those that are up for it will get the chance of joining an after dark jungle hike. Bring a flashlight as the jungle comes alive at night! Shoes, long pants and shirt are recommended.
Day 1 – Cuc Phuong National Park
You won’t believe how gorgeous this national park is! It’s packed full ofbutterflies, wildlife, ancient trees and dense tropical rainforest.
Visiting the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre at Cuc Phuong, you will see someof the worlds rarest Langurs and Gibbons. One of the park rangers will tell youabout their plight and what you can do to help.

Day 2 – The Ho Chi Minh Trail
As we head South toward central Vietnam, we will travel along sections of thefamous Ho Chi Minh Trail, once used as a major supply route by the Vietnamesearmy. Relax and take in the scenery of some remote villages along this iconicroad. You will get the chance to cover some of the history in the area and itssignificance during the American War.
Day 3 – Phong Nha National Park
One of the largest National Parks in Vietnam, it’s home to a huge amount ofwildlife, breathtaking scenery, crystal clear rivers, and immense cave systems.
A recent documentary by National Geographic has given this area much attention.One of the biggest and most beautiful caves in this national park is theParadise Cave which we will visit before having a swim in a river in the middleof the national park, that rumour has it, springs from Laos.
Day 4 – The DMZ
Vinh Moc is a tunnel complex in the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ). The tunnels werebuilt to shelter families from the intense bombings of the area during theAmerican war. Over 600 people lived and 17 babies were born in these tunnelsbetween 1965 and 1972.
After lunch we will visit the Mine Action Visitors Centre in Dong Ha. Thiscentre looks effects of war that still happen today, even after hostilitiesended in 1975. What happens to all the bombs that do not explode? The NPA(Norwegian Peoples Aid) team will take us through what they are doing aboutthis massive problem.
Day 5 – Hue City The Imperial Capital
Standing 7 stories high, Thien Mu is the tallest pagoda in Vietnam. Being builtin 1601 this pagoda is rich in history and is a holy site very importantBuddhist site. Pat the stone turtle on his head for good luck.
Hop back on the bus and we’ll head to the local beach to enjoy a BBQ lunch andsome cocktails as we swim and enjoy the sunset… This spot is a real hidden gem.
Day 6 – Hue To Hoi An over the Hai Van Pass
After enjoying another nice sleep in, you have the option to climb aboard theHai Van Hippy Van for the final leg of the journey to Hoi An. With stops alongthe way being any of the beautiful beaches along the coastline we follow oreven Suoi Voi (Elephant Springs). Make sure you have packed your swimming gearas this is a great place to relax, swim and enjoy a picnic lunch for a coupleof hours.
The van then heads south to take in some breathtaking views as we ascend theHai Van Pass, where we will stop at the top to see some French and Americanbunkers, the remnants of war times past. For the more adventurous customerthere is the option of doing the Top Gear Experience (known for the famous showon TV- As Jeremy Clarkson describes the Hai Van pass as “an untaintedribbon of perfection”.
Day 7 – Hoi An
Finish the Run with a day in Hoi An free to explore the Old Town’s tailorshops, art galleries and riverside market. The Banyan Restaurant on An BangBeach is a great place to kick back and enjoy a beverage on one of the mostbeautiful beaches in Asia.
